A farmer is leaning against the rear tire. Walter Haskell Hinton was a painter and illustrator who first worked for John Deere in 1926 and started freelancing for Deere creating many farm & family scenes. The three dimensional detail & workmanship in these buckles make them a very desirable for collectors. It measures 3 5/8″ x 2 5/8″ Made of Brass & Pewter. Buckle is silver & gold in color. RARE John Deere 450 Crawler Tractor Dozer 1966 Belt Buckle 4 Leg Deer Logo NCM

Make & model ARE SHOWN on buckle. The pewter crawler is RIVETED onto the bronze buckle. These buckles are EXTREMELY RARE, HARD TO FIND & VALUABLE. This buckle was the 2nd John Deere buckle to be produced. It was distributed by NCM Company, Chicago, ILL. It is not dated. According to the John Deere Buckle Collector Book, these buckles are so scarce that the first time John Deere published this book they had to use a sketch because they did not have a actual buckle to take a picture of. The pictures that are now pictured in the Official John Deere Buckle Collector’s Book were from the Hintz personal collection. That buckle was picked up by John Deere personnel and then taken to Moline, IL to be photographed in the 1980’s. Please see picture for information from the book. 3.25″ X 1.75″.
